1998 Results

Congratulations to our Champions and Finalists!

On August 7-9, 1998. the Rocky Mountain Swing Club held their 7th Annual Convention, "Swingtime In The Rockies." at the DIA Holiday Inn in Denver CO.

There were a full array of Jack and Jill contests, in addition to novice/intermediate and advanced strictly swing contests. The Jack and Jill contestants were judged as individuals in the pre-lims and as couples in the finals by Judges Jack Carey, Mary Anne Nunez, John Festa, Cheryl Zazzi, and Bobbie Robinson with Chief Judge Annie Hirsch.

Contestant rotatation was dictated by "The Dice System", initial dance order was generated by computer. Dance order in the Advaanced Jack and Jill and Advanced Strictly Swing Finals was determined by the "Pick a Card" system. Partner allocation for the Intermediate and Advanced Jack and Jill Finals was by random draw on the dance floor. Scoring was done using the "Relative Placement" System. The scores for all the contestants were available for viewing after the contest. Plaques and money prizes were given for the top three places in all contests except Advanced Strictly Swing, where awards were give for top five places. I apologize in advance for any mispellings.
