1999 Results

Congratulations to our Champions and Finalists!

The Rocky Mountain Swing Club's 8th Annual "Swingtime In The Rockies" Convention was held on August 13th-15th, 1999 at the Holiday Inn, DIA.

There were seven judges for all contests: John Wheaton, Randy and Lisa Clements, Mary Manzella, Rob and Gina Brown and Donnie Carl. Kelly Buckwalter was the head judge. Preliminary contest rounds were scored on the "Yes/Alternate/No" basis, and finals were score using the relative placement method. In the Vintage Jack and Jill, and preliminary rounds of the other Jack and Jills, when there were a different number of followers and leaders, the dancers who danced twice were selected at random by the computer.

In the preliminary rounds of Jack and Jill contests, dancers danced with three different partners selected by the throw of a dice on the dance floor.

In the Novice and Intermediate Jack and Jill finals, the leaders drew cards for dance order, and drew their partner's name from a bowl. In the Advanced finals, one leader withdrew after the callback list had been published, so as all leaders had made finals, one of the remaining leaders was required to dance twice. In this case, the followers drew cards for dance order and partners.

In the strictly swing finals, dance order was selected by the draw of a card.

Vintage Jack & Jill
This was held as a finals-only contest. There were 11 leaders and 7 followers entered, so 4 followers danced twice. Awards were given to:
